BLACK HERITAGE TRAIL OF NH CELEBRATES NEW HOME

The Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire has a new home to tell its story -- an 18th century historic house at 222 Court St. in Portsmouth. The house was constructed in 1749 and served as a parsonage to the Rev. Arthur Browne, the first Rector of Queen's Chapel, now St. John's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, and a slave-holder himself. "For a structure that once roomed slaves to now become a lantern, remembrance, and marker of black lives, it is a full circle story." For more click here.
