"Global Mission" means a lot of things to a lot of people. Here in the Diocese of Massachusetts, we believe that Global Mission is a journey into God's Mission, through formational pilgrimage and relationship building with communities from contexts different than our own -- by virtue of culture, geography, background, or experience -- with the purpose of accompaniment, understanding, reconciliation, and justice.

In answering the call into God's Mission, it's easy to get caught up in the details of trips and projects with our partner community. The 2018 Global Mission Summit is an opportunity to step back, share what we each see as the big picture, and explore the role that God plays in our relationship building efforts as we live into our role as Christians, loving our neighbors as ourselves. During the course of the day, we will explore God's expectations of our partnerships in a number of different contexts and share our own experiences of best -- and worst -- practices as partners of God.

Keynote Speakers

The Rev. Canon Petero A. N. Sabune is the Director of the Master's Degree program at Sing Sing Prison and Chaplain for Re-entry. He is the former Africa Partnership Officer for the Episcopal Church.

The Rev. Dr. Christopher Duraisingh served as faculty at the Episcopal Divinity School and as the Director of the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism of the World Council of Churches. He is a published author in the Anglican Theological Review.
